Nick + Laryssa | Edmonton, Alberta Engagement

This is one of the most special shoots I've had the honour of doing. Nick and Laryssa have been a big part of my life over the last 4 years. We all met through our dance group, Vohon.

Nick had approached me a few months ago asking if I'd be able to help him out asking Laryssa to marry him. Of course I said yes and as soon as he was ready I got to work. At one of our dance classes a few weeks ago I went up to Laryssa and started telling her how I wanted to get into couples photography but I was really nervous about it with how bad covid was getting again. The next week I messaged them asking if they'd be willing to model for me since they're in my bubble. Thankfully, Laryssa said yes without hesitation!

We all see each other at least twice a week so it was so funny seeing how clueless Laryssa was. Nick and I would be chatting about it at dance while she was a few feet away.

The day finally came and boy oh boy was I nervous! We had the most beautiful day. It was the perfect temperature and the lighting was the absolute best. We started off with some regular photos just so Nick and I could mentally prepare ourselves and so that we could get some photos pre tears.

I was finally ready (and hopefully Nick was too) and I set up my camera to record the proposal. It took me a while to get my tripod all set up because I couldn't stop shaking. I pressed record and gave Nick his cue. I'm not super sure how I didn't start crying. I think I was too focused on getting the shot; however, I cried like a baby editing the video.

Nick & Laryssa, I'm so happy for you guys. You've always been destined to be together in my eyes. I love you both so much and I'm so honoured to have been a part of this special moment.
